Rousseau Solution
Nelson Motors, a major John Deere dealership group in Southern Saskatchewan, has been serving customers from five locations since 1976. The General Manager of the Redvers branch has been impressed with the Rousseau products installed in their new building. Referring to the busy agricultural and construction equipment dealership, he stated that “Rousseau Metal makes quality equipment that has stood up to our busy location.” The company has been very pleased with its decision to invest in Rousseau solutions for its parts and service department systems across all dealership locations.
During the design phase of the new building, detailed layout planning and system recommendations were developed prior to construction. A solution using Rousseau drawers in shelving was selected for the main floor, along with a custom Rousseau parts counter featuring integrated drawers and shelves with a stainless steel top. The counter spans more than 30 feet and provides ample space to greet and serve customers efficiently.
The Nelson Motors Parts Manager appreciates the flexibility of the parts counter. “Having fully adjustable shelves and drawers under the counters allows us to customize our storage and has been very useful for us. Having the flexibility is great.” He also noted how easy it is to keep the stainless steel tops clean, helping maintain a tidy and professional workspace.
Attention was also given to aisle spacing to ensure building code compliance while maintaining efficient workflow. The high density storage created by Rousseau drawers in shelving significantly improved space utilization. As the Parts Manager explained, “It frees up a ton of space and speeds up inventory a great deal.” By incorporating pegboard end panels and well designed areas for bulk storage above and below, the parts department maximizes available space and supports a natural workflow for the team.
Nelson Motors also required long span storage on the mezzanine floor of the parts department. Rousseau mini racking was used to create a second floor layout that addressed varied storage needs. Management appreciates the flexibility and adjustability of the long span shelving system, allowing them to adapt storage as requirements evolve. Overall, the investment has proven worthwhile. “You get what you pay for and Rousseau Metal builds good quality products that last.”
In the Service Department, technicians required mobile workbenches capable of moving around large equipment. They selected Rousseau steel workbenches with heavy duty casters and stainless steel tops. The Service Manager expressed strong satisfaction with their durability. “They have held up very well and after five years in service, they still work perfectly. The stainless steel tops have held up and the casters work flawlessly. Rousseau Metal makes good quality, practically designed products.”
